Recently founded by Tashi Yangzom and friends, Oogpa House was born out of a passion for hospitality and a love for Ladakh. We wanted to create a place where visitors could experience the warmth and authenticity of local culture while enjoying the comforts of a modern guest house. For our first year, we have welcomed many guests from different parts of the world, each leaving with fond memories and a promise to return.
At Oogpa House, our mission is to provide exceptional hospitality that makes every guest feel special. We aim to offer a seamless blend of traditional charm and modern convenience, ensuring that our guests have everything they need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. In addition, we are passionate about showcasing the beauty and culture of Ladakh. Through our Tours and Travels company, Indiamylove Voyages, we offer guided tours and trekking that lead our guests to explore the diverse and breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh, creating unforgettable experiences and lasting memories.

Tashi Yangzom
As the owner and hostess of Oogpa House, Tashi brings a passion for hospitality and a deep love for Ladakh. With good experience in welcoming guests from all over the world, she ensures that every visitor feels at home. Her warm personality and attention to detail set the tone for the high standards of service you can expect during your stay.
Puntsok Namgyal
Son of Tashi, Puntsok is a dedicated young host at Oogpa House, where he warmly welcomes guests and ensures they have a memorable stay. In addition to his hosting duties, he is responsible coordinating excursions and arranging permits for guests to access restricted areas in the breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh. His role goes beyond hosting, as he also brings valuable expertise as an escort guide, sharing his extensive knowledge of the region’s culture, history, and hidden gems with visitors. With his enthusiasm and local insight, Puntsok plays a vital role in creating authentic and enriching experiences for guests at Maison Oogpa.
Marcel Poulin
Marcel has been Tashi’s Dharma Partner since 2012, and together they share a deep passion for the Himalayas, India, and Nepal. As a specialized escort guide, he organizes personalized trips with custom itineraries throughout Ladakh. With a Master’s degree in Religious Studies, Marcel has an in-depth understanding of the spiritual traditions of the East, which he enthusiastically shares with guests at Oogpa House, providing enriching insights into local customs and spiritual practices.
Stanzin Namgail
A seasoned professional with over eight years of experience in the Ladakh travel industry, Stanzin Namgail has a proven track record of managing and enhancing hospitality experiences. Since 2017, he has been an integral part of the Stone Hedge Group of Hotels, contributing to its growth and reputation. He also own and operates his own travel company, where he specializes in crafting unique travel experiences for clients. In addition, he manages reservations for the Oogpa House Boutique Homestay, ensuring a seamless and memorable stay for the guests.
Stanzin Angmo
She recently completed a 3.5-year nursing program, where she gained valuable skills in patient care and learned the importance of making people feel comfortable and valued. She has always enjoyed interacting with others and making them feel at ease, which has been a significant part of her experience at Oogpa House. Since its inception, she has been involved not just as a helper but as a member of the family, dedicated to ensuring that every guest feels welcome and cared for. This blend of professional training and personal passion has shaped her commitment to compassionate care and positive interactions.
Dawa Dhondup
Dawa is a Tibetan ethnic, born in Leh (Ladakh) to Tibetan nomadic parents, who came into exile to India. Formerly a school teacher, he is distinguished by his deep spiritual inclinations. He joined our team in 1998. The exemplary keenness he displays to build a connect between Himalayan Buddhist spiritualism and adventure travels, is what we are drawn towards him. As Operational Manager in our team, he brings his characteristically Tibetan spiritual vibe and positivity towards building cohesion and quality to our team work overall.
Tsering Dolkar
Mother of Tashi and grandmother of Puntsok, Tsering is a warm and caring presence at Oogpa House. As the true guardian of the place, she ensures that each guest feels at home. Passionate about gardening, she tends to the vegetable garden and flowers that beautify the property, adding a touch of nature and charm to the surroundings. As a dedicated homemaker, she contributes to everyone’s comfort by keeping the house spotless and welcoming.
